Automatic non-destructive detector for micro leaks

This new low cost table top system is completing the PBI-Dansensor product range of On- and Off-line CO2 leak testers for modified atmosphere (MA) packed products where CO2 often is a part of the gas composition used. 

Quick and sensitive

The basic principle of all PBI-Dansensor’s leak detectors are identical: the package is placed inside a test chamber and a user-defined vacuum is created.

The vacuum in the test chamber will establish a pressure difference between the inside of the package and the test chamber causing CO₂ from the package to enter the test chamber through even the smallest leak. A highly sensitive sensor is able to measure all changes in the CO₂ content and will detect even micro leaks. The purchase and operating costs are very low compared to helium leak detectors and this fact has led to a widespread use of the CO₂ method in the food industry during the recent years. The LeakPointer will fast and easily detect your micro leaks in MA packages containing CO2.

The risk of producing packages with leaks is always present for the food manufacturer. The consequences of leaking packages might be increasing expenses and negative image effects, loss of customers etc. An effective quality control for leaks is the best assurance. However, to detect leaks in pharmaceutical packages is often time consuming and the detection rate is often affected by this, particular for this use a SPU (Sample Preparation Unit) is used to prepare packages, which have not been filled with CO₂ in the packaging process. PBI-Dansensor offers a high quality concept to this end, introducing a user-friendly leak detection method.
