FoodTech Scandinavia was held for the fourth time at Exhibition Centre Herning in Denmark on 11 – 13 November, more than 300 exhibitors participated. Trade professionals from 49 countries visited FoodTech Scandinavia 2003 in Herning, Denmark. Experts in foodstuffs and foodstuffs technology from such distant countries as China, the Philippines, Chile and Mexico have been among the visitors to FoodTech Scandinavia. |
Specialists and buyers from 49 countries came to take a closer look at Danish foodstuffs technology and to gain ideas for the production of the foodstuffs of the future.
This trade fair is the largest and most important in Northern Europe for the food industry decision makers and buyers.

All exhibitors were invited to enter this years Innovation Award held by FoodTech in Herning, Denmark. PBI-Dansensor decided to enter the LeakMatic - a compact on-line micro leak detection system giving the possibility of testing packages in complete shipping/display cartons.
Seven out of the 150 companies taking part in the contest were nominated. PBI-Dansensor with the LeakMatic was among those. The award committee's reason for our nomination was the following:
First of all the construction of the system and choice of materials. Secondly the value that it will give to the industry using this kind of equipment (ex. food manufacturers). Supported by the fact that some of the food manufacturers have been forced by the endusers to make a 100% leak detection of their MA packages. It will be at great cost using existing technology. Last and very relevant this new system will help avoiding tainted provisions sold in the supermarket chains.
All nominated companies were represented under the same terms in a part of exhibition area especially for this purpose (see picture).
